Natural Skincare Routine

Your skincare routine doesn’t need to be complicated, but you do need to actually do it!  No matter how tired you are, a simple cleanser and moisturiser is sufficient to clean dirt and oils, hydrate and moisturise your skin.  Never go to bed with makeup on, your pillow and skin will thank you!

However, to get the best from your skin, a routine is going to give you the best skin care results.  Set aside 5 minutes before bed for some self care.  I do it when the kids have gone to sleep and that is my “me” time.

Here is a routine to give you glowing looking skin.  Starting with the water products first and finish with the oils

Day

1.  Cleanse your skin.

2.  Apply any water based serums or mists.

3.  Apply your moisturiser for the day.  It should be a light natural moisturiser for the day.

4.  A sunscreen is a must to prevent damage to your skin from UVA and UVB rays.

5.  Do your makeup, and you are ready to go.  If you don’t do makeup, apply sunscreen regularly when outdoors.

Night

1.  Start with cleansing your skin to get rid of makeup, sunscreen, pollution and natural oils.  This will prevent pores being overcome with dirt and oil, and this build up can lead to acne.

2.  Use a face scrub to remove dead skin build up, ideally 2-3 times a week.

3.  Do a hydrating clay mask once a week to gently exfoliate and give you a hydration boost.

4.  Apply your water based serum before your moisturiser.

5.  Use a thick moisturiser to hydrate, plump and emolliate your skin.

6.  Finally, an oil serum to lock in that moisture so you wake up with beautifully soft and supple skin in the morning.

Repeat each day.  Like most things, great things are worth waiting for because it takes a little time for visible results, but you will see them!
